I want to be an actor.
I reeeally want to be an actor.
I can't find how best to get WORK as an actor. And it's driving me insane. I've been working at getting into the acting industry for a few years now, and so far, beyond a couple of far-fetched opportunities gone awry, nothing surfaces. I co-own an acting troupe, which I feel is a good start, but so far nothing bigger has appeared because of it. If that falls through, I'm in big trouble as far as chasing my dream goes.
Argh, it's just frustrating. I know it will never be easy, and I knew that going into this crazy scheme. If ANYONE reading this has any sort of advice, please, for the love of everything, comment and let me hear it!
Quick notes:
- Red Wings lost their game to Chicago on Sunday (damnit all...)
- Bought 3 rapiers for upcoming Troupe performances (shiny...)
- It's getting cold (seems like winter's finally here...)

Troupe Troubles
The Troupe's future isn't looking quite as bright as I would have hoped it to...We've been having more people drop out of the Company than we've had people coming in, and that is not a recipe for success. I need to go in and try to get Rogers to let me do some volunteer TV work for them, it's the only thing I can think of to do to get me going in the right direction while I'm finishing off university. There have been movies filing in the area, but nothing has panned out for me, as of yet...
...Guess all I can do is keep trying...

Right, now to start...
No quick notes as of yet, since not much has happened of significance today. I will, however, get to that thing I mentioned yesterday.
For a long time, I'd been into the scanslation scene. For those of you who don't know what this is, scanslation is the art of taking unlicensed manga and producing english-translated versions of the scanned pages (hence the name scanslation). One of the big up-and-coming groups, Yanime, had some of the best titles around under their belt that they were working on, and I remember always checking out the site to see when the next chapter of a manga was going to be released! Keep in mind that these titled were, indeed, unlicensed at the time, because the manga they worked on included Ichigo 100%, D-Grey Man, Gintama, and many more. These title are now huge in North America, many of them already finding a home in the North American version of Shonen Jump.
For a blast from the past, I decided last night to check out some of the old scanslation groups I'd been keeping tabs on in the years gone by. Sadly, when I came across Yanime, I found out that the group was closing its doors...I honestly couldn't believe it. One of the best groups in scanslation was closing down. I read up on their last post, and apparently they were unfortunate enough to see most of their popular titles all get licensed at the same time, depleting their options of manga very quickly. The group decided shortly after to finally call it quits and go their seperate ways.
Seeing the group close down made me think of all the times in the past I'd gone to their site and gotten chapters to read, not ever thinking of the possibility that the place would close up, I mean, it was Yanime! Now, looking at the barren site, with no posts since May of this year...it just looks so dead...time really does bring all things to an end.
Sorry if I bore anyone, but I had to get that of my chest.

First Post - Getting off the Ground
Welcome to my new blog. Sorry I'm not writing more, but it's early morning, and I need sleep. I just wanted to get this thing going before I went to bed.
Quick notes:
- Red Wings won their game tonight (Woohoo!!)
- Home for the weekend (Finally relax...)
- About 100 pages through *it* (If you really must know, ask and I'll tell you).
I'll be back around tomorrow, as I found something out that shocked me, which is what led me to start this up in the first place. Till then, seeya 'round.
